“Super-ferritic” stainless steels
The characteristic of this type of stainless steel is the very low interstitial level [(carbon+nitrogen) < 0.015%]. Stabilizing elements such as titanium and niobium allow welded joints to be made without losing corrosion resistance and ductility properties with respect to the base material. The super-ferritic grades can be processed with no special difficulties, e.g. cutting or bending. Moreover they show very low springback values, especially when compared with austenitic grades.
